Manipulation and Mobilization

What is Chiropractic Manipulation?

Chiropractic manipulations, also known as Chiropractic Adjustments, are an important part in rehabilitative care for most individuals experiencing pain, joint stiffness/tightness or loss of range of motion.

Adjustments are an effective tool in addressing joint restrictions throughout the body. Improper movement of joints may affect your ability to evenly distribute forces across your body. Each joint requires other joints to do their job in moving. If each joint doesn’t do it’s fair share of movement there is a possibility for injury or pain.

Our doctors utilize a unique force progression evaluation to determine the need for and safety of a manipulation. Adjusting involves placing the body into a safe position to encourage the desired movement and applying a quick, specific push or pull. These adjustments can be very effective in alleviating pain, improving range of motion, and improving athletic performance.

You may hear a joint cavitation, which is the popping sound made when a person cracks the knuckles or another joint. The sound is produced when gasses such as nitrogen and oxygen are released from the joint fluid.
